Install XP on second computer
2004-07-28 22:04:44
I bought a download copy of XG and installed it on my Laptop. I would like
to install it on my desktop computer (networked to the laptop) so I can use Quicken from either computer on the laptop data files. I haven't managed to do this as it won't activate a second copy. I have emailed Quicken UK for advice but past experience with Support tells me not to hold my breath. Any comments please? Tony

Amazingly I have had quick email replies from Quicken Support.
I sent them my 42 digit thingy for my desktop machine and they sent me back an activation code along with anothe code for inserting into the "multiple" boxes (whereever they are). I didn't in fact have to use either of these codes as I just activated the machine online and it accepted it ok. I think Quicken must have fiddled something at their end to get me off their back as I have been rather "persistent" with them ever since I bought XG. Anyway I now have machines with working copies of XG so I feel a lot less vulnerable if one of them crashes or gets stolen. My copy of Quicken 2004 Premier limits me to one > PC. I can't believe it's different for your copy of XG.
